Meet Carrie

Carrie Hartman is a dedicated civil servant running for Maumee City Council. She has worked in the public sector for the last four years, currently as a Project Manager for the City of Toledo, and previously as the Executive Assistant and Public Information Officer for former Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson.  She has a range of experience in governing, including budget building, policy and legislation research, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

Carrie moved to the Toledo-area in 2009 and immediately fell in love with the community.  After getting involved in local organizations and politics, Carrie chose to attend law school at the University of Toledo.  After graduation, Carrie moved to Maumee because of its location on the Maumee River, its safe and quiet neighborhoods, and its rich history.  Carrie is running for Maumee City Council because she cares about the future of Maumee and believes that her neighbors deserve to have safe and clean drinking water, sustainable and livable neighborhoods, and a government that listens to and works for them.

Carrie grew up in the Midwest, and received her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University.  After college she worked for several women’s organizations in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. She has served on various boards and commissions and is currently the President of HerHub, an initiative of Women of Toledo dedicated to promoting women's economic empowerment.

Carrie lives on River Road with her husband, Stephen.
